Construction of the new luxury resort has begun on the site of Laguna Village

The new luxury resort built on the ashes of the former Laguna Village shopping center is expected to be completed by the spring of 2023. The project is being implemented by the Trilantic company created by the Pachá group and the GAT group led by businessman Rosauro Varo. They received practically all permits, so they want to start construction soon.

Currently, the area is completely fenced off, and the remains of the Laguna Village shopping center, which burned to the ground in the August 2020 fire, have already been demolished. The works will take a year to open in the spring of 2023, according to forecasts.

It is worth noting that at the end of 2020, the city council approved the urban development plan, which allows the complex to be rebuilt. The land on which the shopping center is located is owned by the municipality under an administrative concession 20 years ago.
As for the details of the project, it turned out that water will be the main character, as the complex will have a swimming pool, beach club, children’s paradise, restaurant-club, retail entertainment center or shopping center with additional experiences related to shopping, “sport & live” and possibly a boat club, taking advantage of the 1,200 square meter beach. According to forecasts, after the center is fully operational, it will create around 800 direct and indirect jobs in the region.

In the new facilities, which will be built from scratch and will cover approximately 13,000 square meters, this complex will be the largest of its kind in Andalusia. The pool area is actually one of the few parts of the old Laguna Village that burned to the ground in a fire in August 2020.
In terms of operation, the Pachá group is expected to use all its experience and apply the successful formulas of similar complexes it operates in Ibiza or Barcelona, such as the Lio Ibiza cabaret.

The facilities are located next to the equally luxurious and exclusive Kempinski Hotel Bahía, an investment that will undoubtedly add a new dimension to the eastern part of Estepona.
