Benalmadena – a real estate perspective

This is a town which has grown incredibly, especially in the 30 years I have lived in Spain. Originally, the town was Benalmadena Pueblo which is actually a few kilometers inland from the sea, at 300m above sea level. This part still retains its Andalucian charm with its narrow streets and whitewashed houses.  On the other hand, the Benalmadena Costa area (which is next to the sea), has grown as a direct result of increased tourism. Consequently, it offers everything one could possibly want from a beach holiday: there are many hotels of all categories, restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, discos etc, as well as a wealth of tourist amenities such as the Marina area, a Sea Life attraction, Tivoli world theme park (not a very good one!) and a cable car that takes you to the top of the mountain. If you’re looking for peace and tranquility, this is not the destination for you.

Property prices in Benalmadena

This is almost impossible to answer as there is such a range and diversity of properties for sale in Benalmadena.  Much depends on the location, distance from the sea, age of property, build quality and personal requirements of the buyer.  There is something for all budgets in Benalmadena if you decide this is where you want to be. A 2 bedroom apartment can be bought for as little as 200.000€ or less but in a resort type development (like El Higueron), you could expect to pay three times as much.
